The NDC has decided to suspend party executives in Amenfi Central due to their misconduct.
The NDC has taken action by suspending a number of its executives in the Amenfi Central Constituency for reportedly engaging in anti-party activities.
The constituency chairman, the organiser, and the main and deputy women’s organisers dragged the party and its parliamentary candidate for the area, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, to court for forgery of party cards.
Joana Kodjo has been injuncted for forgery and holding herself as the parliamentary candidate elect for the NDC in the constituency.
The Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mustapha Gbande, noted that the suspension is for a period of six months and has been referred to the party’s national disciplinary committee.
“If anybody has a problem with the process that elected her as a parliamentary candidate in that constituency, why did the person wait and we have gone through all the processes, finished the elections swore her in as the parliamentary candidate, trained her and prepared her for the final election then you are in court to say that you have a problem with the processes that elected her as a parliamentary candidate.
This is clearly anti-party conduct; a calculated attempt to hold the party’s interest to ransom. But the party will respect the ruling of the court. We are looking further and any other person whose conduct will also constitute misconduct under the constitution will follow suit until we clean that constituency and prepare it for the 2024 elections,” he stated.
