Cyril Ramaphosa will be inaugurated for the second time as President of South Africa come Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
The Secretary to Parliament, Xolile George, announced that the inauguration will take place in Pretoria. The announcement was made during South Africa’s National Assembly first sitting on Friday, June 14, at Cape Town International Convention Centre, where Mr. Ramaphosa was re-elected following the swearing in of Members of Parliament.
The first sittings of the National Assembly on Friday and the National Council of Provinces on Saturday marks the beginning of the new Parliamentary term, following the elections on May 29, 2024.
The ruling African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance (DA) earlier agreed to form a Government of National Unity, paving the way for Mr. Ramaphosa’s re-election as President.
