Faith Sobe Cyril, a recent graduate of Academic City University College, has been hired by Apple UK as a Software Engineer. He graduated with a first-class honour in Computer Science.
Faith is now a part of Apple’s Evolve programme, a comprehensive two-year rotational initiative that offers participants a deep dive into different areas of the company. Throughout the programme, he will have the opportunity to work with three diverse teams, contributing to important projects and gaining experience in each rotation.
Faith expressed his excitement for the opportunity, stating, “I am excited to be joining Apple and am eager to learn from experienced engineers while making a meaningful impact on people’s lives across the globe.”
Speaking on the thorough application process that resulted in his selection, he mentioned, “I started by submitting my application through Apple’s careers website. The selection process was rigorous, beginning with an essay round and followed by a technical interview. After that, I encountered three consecutive panel interviews, consisting of two technical interviews and one behavioural interview. In the end, a successful behavioural interview led to an offer.”
He also stressed the importance of his experience at Academic City in shaping his technical, collaboration, and leadership skills, which he plans to utilise at Apple.
“I have gained valuable experience in juggling various academic and non-academic commitments during my time at Academic City, which has prepared me well for the challenges of the Evolve programme,” he added.
He expressed optimism about advancing his career goals through the diverse opportunities at Apple, particularly highlighting the chance to work on innovative projects and collaborate with industry leaders. He believes these experiences will be crucial in shaping his path toward becoming an expert in the technology industry
“Apple offers a dynamic atmosphere with challenging projects and ample chances for growth, which will enable me to develop the necessary skills to reach my long-term career goals,” he stated.
Commenting on this significant milestone, Cyril Quansah-Quainoo, Public Relations Manager of Academic City, remarked, “This incredible achievement underscores our commitment to ensuring our graduates remain relevant and competitive in the global job market.
