South Africa and Nigeria are strengthening their bilateral ties as trade volume between the two nations reached $670 million in quarter one of 2024.
The Nigeria Bureau of Statistics (NBS) revealed the monetary value of the trading activities between Nigeria and South Africa.
According to NBS, trade between Nigeria and South Africa in quarter one of 2024 reached $670 million.
The announcement comes as President Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria attended the inauguration of President Cyril Ramaphosa in South Africa on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.
The two nations are further taking steps to strengthen their bilateral ties, especially on the economic front.
South Africa sees Nigeria as a strategic partner in the context of bilateral relations, the West Africa region, and the African continent in the pursuance of the African Agenda, South – South Cooperation and in the promotion of a rule-based international system.
