A French court has sentenced a 31-year-old man to 23 years in prison for killing Christopher Aurier, the younger brother of Ivorian footballer, Serge Aurier.
The sentencing on Friday, May 31, 2024 brought closure to the legal proceedings on the murder case.
Christopher was shot dead one morning in July 2020 outside Kin’s nightclub in Toulouse.

The killer had initially fled the murder scene but later turned himself into the police, confessing to having killed Christopher.
After about four years of court proceedings, he was jailed by a judge at the Haute-Garonne Assize Court in France on Friday, May 31, 2024.
The Aurier family were present in court as the judge passed the verdict.
Christopher was a footballer himself and was playing for Toulouse Rodeo in the French fifth tier when his life was cut short. At the time of his murder, his brother Serge Aurier was playing for Tottenham in England.
