Real Madrid Confirm Sale of Joselu To Al-Gharafa of Qatar

Spanish and European champions, Real Madrid, have officially confirmed the sale of their player, Joselu Mato, to Qatar Stars League giants, Al-Gharafa.

Below is Real Madrid’s official statement announcing the sale of Joselu:

After exercising their option to acquire the rights of the player Joselu Mato from R. C. D. Espanyol, Real Madrid C. F. has reached an agreement with Al-Gharafa SC regarding the transfer of our player.

Joselu started playing for Real Madrid in the academy in 2010 at the age of 20 when he joined Castilla, where he played for 2 seasons and was involved in the promotion to the Second Division in the 2011-2012 campaign.

Joselu has made 49 appearances for Real Madrid this 2023-2024 season, scoring 18 goals and winning three trophies: 1 Champions League, 1 LaLiga and 1 Spanish Super Cup.

His two goals in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final against Bayern München saw Joselu play a very important role in reaching the final at Wembley and winning the 15th European Cup.
