Osae Nyampong VI delivers on $20,000 promise to Adisadel Millenium Year Group Project

Otwasuom Osae Nyampong VI, the Kamenahene of the Akwamu Traditional Area, has donated another  $10,000 towards the legacy project of the Adisadel Millennium (2000) year group.

Osae Nyampong VI, who is also the Patron for the 2000 year group, made the presentation to the president of the group, Richard Nii Amu Arthur, as part fundraising efforts towards the refurbishment and modernisation of the Job 600 block in Adisadel College.

This brings Osae Nyampong’s donations towards the project to a total of $20,000, an amount he promised the year group as their patron. He made a similar presentation of $10,000 in May 2023.

Richard Nii Amu Arthur, thanked  Nana Nyampong VI  on behalf of the Millenium Year Group. He said: ‘We are grateful for your kind gesture and the support you keep giving  our year group over the years. You have been a wonderful patron and a father to us. We assure you and all stakeholders that, the project will be completed on time before the speech day on March 8, 2025.”

Osae Nyampong VI, has over three decades of experience as an entrepreneur in diverse industries, including procurement and logistics, real estate, and trucking. Although the Kamenahene of the Akwamu Traditional Area has worked hard to achieve all his successes, he attributes his training from Adisadel College as the shaping point of his life.

The refurbishment of the Job 600 building encompass a comprehensive transformation of the historic structure in Adisadel. It  includes renovating existing interior and exterior spaces and enhancing the functionality of the building. The ongoing project includes several key components, including:

Amphitheater: The amphitheater will be transformed into a modern, state-of-the-art facility, suitable for hosting lectures, seminars, and performances.

Robotic center: A dedicated robotic center will be established within the building, catering to the growing interest in robotics and technology among students.

National Science & Mathematics Quiz (NSMQ) Room: The NSMQ room will be revamped to accommodate the needs of the prestigious national quiz competition.

Computer Lab: The computer lab will be equipped with the latest hardware and software, ensuring our students have access to state-of-the-art computing facilities.

Physics Lab: The physics lab will be renovated and equipped with modern equipment, enabling students to conduct experiments and enhance their practical skills.

Media Center: The media center will be transformed into a modern hub for accessing educational resources, literature, and recreational media.

Staff Rooms: The staff rooms will be upgraded to provide comfortable spaces for faculty and staff to engage in their work.

Offices: The office space will be expanded to accommodate administrative staff and support the growth of the college.

Store: The campus store will be remodelled to provide a convenient hub for students to purchase essential items and services.

Classrooms: All Classrooms will be refurbished to create a conducive learning environment for students.

Guidance and Counselling room: Guidance and Counselling room will be established to cater the for the needs of students seeking guidance and support.

Works on the building under the project includes rewiring the entire building to ensure efficient and safe electrical systems. The staircase will be expanded to accommodate the increasing number of students and provide a safe and user-friendly access route. Emergency exits will be installed to enhance safety and provide a quick exit in case of emergencies. The roof will be replaced or repaired to ensure a weatherproof and structurally sound structure. The Millennium Year group is also renovating the toilet facilities at the basement.

The project is estimated to cost $300,000. Through the collective effort of members of the Millennium Year Group and a combination of generous donations and sponsorship, about 60% of the required funds for the project has successfully been raised.
