Kotoko To Play Hearts In Maiden Edition of Ghana Democracy Cup

Asante Kotoko are set to face their arch rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak, in the maiden edition of the Ghana Democracy Cup.
The Parliament of Ghana on Thursday, June 13, 2024, launched the inaugural Democracy Cup, an initiative to celebrate anniversary 30th of Parliamentary Democracy in Ghana.
Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, spearheaded the launch of the Democracy Cup inside the Justice D.F. Annan Auditorium at Parliament House and attracted a lot of bigwigs in the Ghanaian football fraternity including Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah, and ex-Black Stars defender, John Paintsil.
Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko are to play a one-off match to mark the inaugural Democracy Cup.
The match is scheduled for Friday, July 5, 2024 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
