Ghana whip Central African Republic in World Cup qualifier, Jordan Ayew Scores Hat trick

Ghana have defeated Central African Republic as their striker Jordan Ayew scored hat trick in the African edition of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Black Stars hosted Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ashanti Region, on Monday night, June 10, 2024.
The West African had taken the lead early in the match when Ayew scored from the penalty spot. But the lead was canceled out in the 11th minute when L. Mafouta secured an equalizer for Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The visitors doubled their score in the 41st minute when Mafouta scored his second goal of the night.
But the Black Stars returned from the break with so much determination and restored parity in the 60th minute as Jordan scored his second goal of the night in the charged stadium on home soil. Fatawu scored Ghana’s third goal in the 62nd minute and Jordan netted his final goal in the 69th minute.
Mafouta caused a major scare for Ghanaians as he scored Central African Republic’s third goal in the 90th minute, with the continuing until the 98th minute.
The result from Kumasi has seen Ghana moved at the top of Group I with 9 points having lost just one of their four group matches and won three.
Comoros and Madagascar both sit second and third on the table with six points each, having played only three games each.
