Actor Lil Win Arrested Over Deadly Car Accident

Ghanaian actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, has been arrested by police in Kumasi, Ghana’s second biggest city, over a recent car crash that resulted in the death of a child.

Ghanaija has gathered that police at the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Manhyia Divisional Police Command arrested the popular actor on Monday, June 3, 2024, shortly after he was discharged from the hospital.

His arrest is in connection to the accident involving a vehicle he was driving, which resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy named Nana Yaw. Lil Win had been on a media tour in Kumasi on that fateful day promoting his new film titled ‘A Country Called Ghana’ when the accident occurred. He was injured in the process.

But the family of Nana Yaw who has since been buried, have been asking for justice to be served.

However, the police said their delay in arrested Lil Win was as a result of his health condition. A police vehicle was stationed at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, and he was taken into custody immediately after being discharged by medical personnel.

Although the police have not provided further details, the Lil Win was transported to the Manhyia Divisional Police Command of the MTTD as investigations into the incident continue.
