Veteran Nigerian music producer and Mavin Records executive, Don Jazzy, has shared a candid perspective on the personal sacrifices made during his ascent to the top of the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Speaking on the Echo Podcast, the 42-year-old music mogul acknowledged that while he has no regrets about his professional journey, he may have “unconsciously sacrificed” one major area of his life: marriage.
“I never thought I’d be in my 40s and not married. Maybe that’s the one I lost along the way,” Don Jazzy admitted. He added that he is now at peace with the situation, stating, “If it comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, I’m totally fine.”
The producer, who has been instrumental in developing global stars like Tiwa Savage, Rema, and Ayra Starr, emphasized that even if he weren’t a label executive, his life would still heavily revolve around music. Despite the trade-offs, he concluded that he feels a profound sense of fulfillment regarding his achievements in the music scene.
