12 New Mothers Freed from Detention at LEKMA Hospital After Happy Man Foundation Settles Over GHS 21,000 in Medical Bills

 

In a heartwarming gesture, the Happy Man Foundation, as part of Charger Limited’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, made a significant donation to the LEKMA Hospital, bringing much-needed relief to 12 new mothers who had been detained due to their inability to settle their medical bills.

The total amount cleared by the foundation was GHS 21,182, easing the burden on these families during a time that should be filled with joy.

Amanda Jissih, who spearheaded the donation drive on behalf of the Happy Man Foundation indicated that as a company, Charger Limited has a social contract with the people they serve and the donation is in fulfilment of the social contract the company has with the people.

She used the opportunity to urge people present to support Charger Limited through their prayers.

The donation comes at a crucial time, providing much-needed assistance to the detained mothers, who have been unable to go home with their newborns due to unpaid medical bills.

The foundation’s support underscores its commitment to giving back to the community and helping those in need.

Officials from LEKMA Hospital expressed deep gratitude for the donation, noting that it will significantly relieve the affected mothers.

“This donation will greatly benefit these mothers who have had to stay here because they couldn’t raise the funds to pay their bills,” one official said.

“We, like Oliver Twist, humbly ask for more of such donations to continue supporting the underprivileged in our community.”
