Water, Electricity Tariffs Increased In Ghana
Water and electricity tariffs have been increased once again in Ghana.
Ghana’s Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) haannounced the increments in the tariffs in a statement signed by its Executive Secretary, Dr. Dr. Ishmael Ackah, on May 31.
The PURC says the upward adjustments in the tariffs will take effect from July 1, 2024.
PURC announced that electricity tariffs will increase by 3.45% for lifeline consumers (0-30kWh), 5.84% for other residential consumers (31 kWh and above) and non-residential consumers, and 4.92% for industrial consumers.
It says water tariffs will increase by 5.16% for all customer classes.
