Kenyan Sprinter Beatrice Chebet Wins Olympic Women’s 10,000m Gold Medal

Kenyan runner, Beatrice Chebet has won the Olympic Women’s 10,000m gold medal.

Chebet won the prestigious title on Friday, August 9, 2024, adding to her 5,000m gold medal to once again scupper the hopes of defending champion, Sifan Hassan.

Making her Olympic debut, she clocked a winning time of 30min 43.25sec at a packed Stade de France.

Italy’s Nadia Battocletti took silver in a national record of 30.43.35, while Hassan claimed a second bronze of the Olympics after winning third place in the 5,000m.
